I really only purchase things that I feel necessary to me. I have bought gifts for important people to me this week, so it is an odd week where I spent a lot of money. These purchases have given me much pleasure and I cannot wait to see the people when they receive them. I could not go out for dinner that much and use the servery which I have already paid for and use the meals that are being charged for. Resisting the pressure of friends who always want to go out is the main way to control my spending.

  1. You have good habits, Michael. I hope those for whom you've bought presents are so excited and happy! By you resisting the urging of friends to go out to eat, you are saving your money and you may to varying degrees be slowly affecting your friends' spending habits as they watch you do what you do. Keep it up!
